4711 - Ideation

4711 is one of the oldest cologne brands in Germany, The concepts produced where done in response to a brief to "Develop both innovative & realisable merchandise products as well as unconventional & freaky product ideas." How might the brand grow in the future based on their context? The proposed concepts focused on 3 key themes.

Portability of fragrance

How can the packaging of cologne be designed to be more convenient and how could this change the way scent is applied to our person, Could the fragrance be held with jewellery that releases it when the heat from the body warms it?

Customized Fragrance

Women and men often accessorize their outfit through the addition of fragrance.
How could we give the user more control in the selection and mix of scents in order to accessorize their outfit by way of scent creation? The concept core users are the individuals fascinated with fragrance and a desire to express their individuality and creativity through fragrance.

Scent Memory

Floods of memories can be triggered by the human sense of smell, Harnessing 4711 expertise in scents creation, what sort of device could they produce to record and recreate smells to help us evoke memories from our past?
