the body language of objects

To what extent can the user/object interactions be intensified through the addition of tangible characteristics to an object?

The emotional content of a human to human interaction is a key part of what gives it its depth. Our emotional state causes our body to subconsciously animate making up 65% of our non verbal communications, which is called body language. Body language contains 3 key variable factors, Its Energy, Direction and Focus.

Experimentation into how an object can be given a recognisable body language by animating its surface by the manipulation of its shape and colour was attempted. The animations focused on how multiple layers of information might be communicated through the 3 variables. The prototype was used to attempt to deliver a broader idea of a positive or negative emotion to more complex deeper emotions.
